carboNZero household calculator
The household calculator helps individuals to calculate the greenhouse gas emissions for their personal household.
- To calculate your emissions, gather the information you need (electricity bills, fuel receipts etc) and simply enter the appropriate values in the list. This can be done monthly or annually.
- The results will alert you to your activities that produce the most greenhouse gas emissions. Reducing your emissions will reduce your household energy bills and your impact on the environment. You can use the tips on this website and create your own action plan to reduce emissions.
- Come back to the calculator at a later date and reassess your emissions. This way you’ll be able to see if you have reduced your emissions.
- You can then offset your emissions by purchasing carbon credits via the online payment facility, subject to availability of carbon credits.
The household calculator is not intended for organisations and businesses.
